Look at the map, brano del trombettista Ilic Fenzi, dà il nome al quartetto da lui capeggiato che propone un repertorio completamente originale a cui contribuiscono tutti i musicisti. La continua ricerca di un equilibrio, sempre provvisorio, fra l' estrema libertà armonica e strutturale e una scrittura formalmente rigorosa sembra essere l'indole di questo quartetto che esplora territori a volte impervi, ma sempre con un occhio... alla mappa.
Look at the map, piece by the trumpeter Ilic Fenzi, gives its name to the quartet he led, which proposes a completely original repertoire to which all musicians contribute. The continuous search for a balance, always provisional, between the extreme harmonic and structural freedom and a formally rigorous writing seems to be the nature of this quartet that explores sometimes impervious territories, but always with an eye ... on the map.

Nel 1986 esce l’album Bugie di Lucio Dalla. La quarta traccia s’intitola Tania del Circo. Il testo, che si trova nella copertina interna del disco, racconta, come spesso succede in Dalla, una storia surreale e visionaria. Ma, ascoltando la traccia, si scopre che è un brano strumentale. E allora diventa chiaro perché, alla fine del testo e fra parentesi, Lucio Dalla abbia scritto: ‘cantatevela voi!’. Insomma, un tranello, una bugia.
A più di trent’anni dall’uscita di quel disco, noi abbiamo voluto raccogliere la sfida: metteremo insieme quel testo ritmicamente strampalato con quegli accordi e quegli accenni melodici suonati dal sax! O almeno con l’idea di quella musica.
Tale operazione rappresenta bene l’approccio proposto dal collettivo: rielaborare, rimasticare, ri-comporre.
In 1986 Lucio Dalla's album Bugie was released. The fourth track is titled Tania del Circo. The text, which is found on the inside cover of the disc, tells, as often happens in Dalla, a surreal and visionary story. But, listening to the track, it turns out that it is an instrumental piece. And then it becomes clear why, at the end of the text and in brackets, Lucio Dalla wrote: 'sing it to you!'. In short, a trap, a lie.
More than thirty years after the release of that record, we wanted to take up the challenge: we will put together that rhythmically outlandish text with those chords and melodic hints played by the sax! Or at least with the idea of that music.
This operation well represents the approach proposed by the collective: rework, remix, re-compose.

Franca Pullia ed Enrico Brion sono i Talking Frogs. Il duo prende il nome dal primo brano suonato assieme, Halfway down the stairs, interpretato da Robin, il ranocchio nipotino di Kermit, presentatore del Muppet Show. Personali rivisitazioni di brani più e meno noti, sia italiani che internazionali: da Lucio Dalla a Giorgio Gaber, da Kate Bush a Tori Amos, dai Beatles a Hall & Oates, dagli Emerson Lake & Palmer a Stevie Wonder, con qualche chicca inedita.
Franca Pullia and Enrico Brion are the Talking Frogs. The duo takes its name from the first song played together, Halfway down the stairs, played by Robin, Kermit's grandson frog, presenter of the Muppet Show. Personal reinterpretations of more and less known songs, both Italian and international: from Lucio Dalla to Giorgio Gaber, from Kate Bush to Tori Amos, from the Beatles to Hall & Oates, from the Emerson Lake & Palmer to Stevie Wonder, with some unpublished gems.

A fine 2009 io e l'amico trombonista Tony Costantini fondammo l'Orchestra Componibile, un ensemble e laboratorio di scrittura il cui organico si aggirava intorno ai 10 elementi.
L'esperienza fu per me molto formativa, sia come compositore (ebbi la possibilità di sperimentare la tavolozza timbrica che l'ensemble mi offriva), sia umanamente e come direttore artistico di un gruppo.
Durante i due anni di attività, oltre ai concerti, l' Orchestra Componibile ha promosso un laboratorio di scrittura, ha invitato il sassofonista Maurizio Giammarco a scrivere per l'ensemble, ha prodotto due dischi.

At the end of 2009 my trombonist friend Tony Costantini and I founded the Orchestra Componibile, an ensemble and writing workshop whose staff was around 10 elements.
The experience was very formative for me, both as a composer (I had the opportunity to experiment with the tonal palette that the ensemble offered me), both humanly and as artistic director of a group.
During the two years of activity, in addition to concerts, the Orchestra Componibile promoted a writing workshop, invited saxophonist Maurizio Giammarco to write for the ensemble, and produced two records.
